BPCL & Sembcorp Ink Strategic JV to Drive Green Hydrogen & Renewable Energy Growth in India

In a significant step towards accelerating India’s transition to clean energy, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has joined hands with Singapore-based Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India Pvt Ltd to form a joint venture focused on the development of green hydrogen, green ammonia, and renewable energy projects across the country.

This collaboration is aimed at building and operating green hydrogen plants powered by renewable sources, as well as developing large-scale solar and wind power infrastructure. The move aligns with India’s ambitious target to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030, as part of its net-zero emissions commitment.

“This joint venture will not only contribute to our national green energy goals but will also strengthen India’s global leadership in the hydrogen economy,” said a BPCL spokesperson.
